Tadi pagi gw mimpi... jadi entah gimana, pokoknya gw sama temen deket gw itu lagi.. menghabiskan waktu bersama2 --' Dan gw sedang duduk di deket dia sambil bengong2... kalo ga salah gw lagi dengerin lagu... dan waktu gw nengok ke arah dia.. dia lg ngerokok --' Gw langsung shock berat ^^; Dan waktu itu gw dibangunin nyokap. Dan waktu bangun.. gw masih serem aja ngeliat dia lg ngerokok --' Biasanya ga ngerokok kok tau2 ngerokok ^^; Dan tau2 gw inget.. dia emang ga ngerokok --' Huhuhuhu ~_~ No offense bwt para perokok yah --' Gw cuman shock aja, huhuhu ~_~
And gara2 2 hari yg lalu ngebongkar buku2 di loteng gara2 lemari gw kena rayap.. akhirnya gw n kk gw ngubek2 semua buku di loteng, dan gw nemu sebuah buku yg menarik: Life on the edge by Dr. James Dobson. Sebagian dari chapter yg gw lagi baca sekarang bicara tentang inferiority masa kecil (... kok seakan2 kisah hidup gw penuh dgn inferiority gini? Huhuhu --') How children are hurt during the early stages of their life, and how those childhood pains would affect their life for the next few decades. Yes, he didn't say next few years, he said next few decades. That's a long way --'
There is a striking similarity between the sheep ... and teenagers who succumb to deadly peer pressure. They inject themselves with heroin, sniff crack, engage in dangerous sexual practices, drive while drinking and shoot at each other with automatic weapons.
[Oh, btw... please note kalo ini buku luar, so most cases here diambil dr kejadian di luar.]
... Why is the urge to follow so irresistible in the human personality? Because it is driven by extremely powerful needs of love, belonging, and acceptance. Those who are unable to satisfy these deep longings sometimes do not thrive physically. ... This is the way we are made -- vulnerable, needy, and very dependent on one another. Some are more sensitive than others, of course, especially in the earliest years of childhood.
... Children often do great damage to one another by their cruelty and ridicule. Consider this note given to me by the mother of a fourth-grade girl, for example. It was written by one of her classmates for no apparent reason:
Awful Janet
You the stinkest girl in this world. I hope you die but of course I suppose that's impossible. I've some ideals.
1. Play in the road
2. Cut you throad
3. Drink poison
4. Knife yourself
Please do some of this you big fat Girl. we all hate you. I'am praying Oh please lord let Janet die. Were in need of fresh air. Did you hear me lord cause if you didn' will all die with her here. See Janet, we're not all bad.
from Wanda Jackson
What is "Awful Janet" to think about a note like this? ... Notice that Wanda hit all the sensitive nerves. She insulted Janet's physical appearance and implied that all the other students think she stinks. Those two messages -- "you're ugly" and "everyone hates you" -- could scar a particularly sensitive child. He or she may remember it for a lifetime.
No one is immune to the pain of rejection
Ask any adult to relate a similar accident from childhood and you'll get an immediate response. Most remember experiences that may have occured decades ago.
...
Well, let's bring this discussion a little closer to home. When hundreds of early painful experiences like this are followed by a stormy adolescence, a "crisis of confidence" can occur as one moves into the critical decade. That has a way of interfering with everything we try to do.
A crisis of confidence
... Do you believe in your ability to deal with the major challenges of life? If you don't, others won't either. They will watch you carefully to see what you think of yourself. After all, you're the best source of information on that subject. Your own insecurities and doubt will translate directly into the attitudes of your peers.
Please understand that the characteristic I'm promoting is not one of haughtiness and pride. Conceit is a weird disease. It makes everyone sick except the guy who has it. Pride also gets us in a lot of trouble. As the mother whale said to her baby: "When you get to the surface and start to blow, that's when you get harpooned!"
...
Please understand that I'm not suggesting that you develop an attitude of self-importance, independence, and arrogance. I'm not even talking about self-esteem, as it is often interpreted. ... It is believing in your worth as a human being regardless of the pain and rejection inflicted on you by others. It is, in a word, confidence.
Dan untuk menutup rangkuman dari buku itu, ada satu point penutup dari dia di chapter Thirty - eight Values To Live By
...
7. Human worth does not depend on beauty, intelligence, or accomplishments. We are all more valuable than the possessions of the entire world simply because God gave us that value. This fcat remains true, even if every other person on earth treats us like losers.
...
10. Comparison is the root of all feelings of inferiority. The moment you begin examining other people's strengths against your most obvious weaknesses, your self - esteem starts to crumble!
...
That topic is for me xD
Well, sebagian dari kutipan2 di atas membuat gw berniat menulis satu topik yang udh lama mau gw tulis, cuman gw tunda2 terus :p *procrastinator mode on* Yah... gw ga bakalan bahas tentang inferiority.. kyanya udh banyak gw naroh topik itu di blog --' And buku itu.. I have to admit, gave me... some support lah ^^; Sama seperti beberapa temen2 gw, memberi gw pikiran2 yang lebih sehat. Semoga aja gw bisa nerapin --' But sometimes dateng gitu aja.. I can't help it, huhuhu --'
Udah lama gw pingin ngebuka masa SD gw.. masa2 kelam, huhuhu --' Waktu gw masih cungkring dan 'bisu' dengan muka yang mirip cowo itu --' (Sedih bgt sih lol~) Waktu gw baca topik ini.. kok pas banget.. ^^; If there were somebody yg dateng ke gw dan nanya apa gw pernah menerima kejadian jelek masa kecil kaya yg dicontohin tadi itu (he gave more examples, actually.. cuman gw aja males ngetik :p)... tentunya gw bakal nyeritain kejadian2 kaya di bawah ini.
She was going to throw a party, which I wasn't permitted to come.
'Pokoknya mesti dateng. Kalo nggak, tinggal angkat telpon... dan telpon semua orang buat musuhin elo (was it elo or kamu? --' Istilah taun 90an apaan sih? ^^;)'
Yeah, I'm thinking about it today... and I have to admit I was CRAZY ~_~
Hello Amanda, if you're out there reading my blog, I hope you remember the scene as well as I do :)
I'm bad... really bad --+
Dunno kenapa, waktu itu pernah gw ama kk gw nebeng ke sekolah sm temennya kk gw (who was a... jerk, too --' Parah bgt deh tuh anak, asli). Nyokapnya sih baik, cuman mungkin ada saraf di otaknya tuh anak yg misconnected, jadilah dia udh bener2 kaya setan gitu --' Dan selama sekian lama gw ama kk gw nebeng dia.. and it was hell --+ Duduk dijatahin, dibatesin pake tas.. lebih sedikit didorong balik.. ~_~ Aih..
Seinget gw masih banyak kejadian2 aneh yang stupid and childish banget, but hey, I WAS a kid --' Dan buntutnya, kejadian2 kaya gitu yang bikin gw kadang suka "aneh" when it comes to interacting with other people. Suka terlalu "baik", suka terlalu gampang minta maaf.. dll dsb lah --' Some say this is a habit, but I say ini gw lakuin krn ga mau "ditinggalin". Yeah, kita udh dewasa (emang iya yah? :p) Otak udh berkembang, bukan lagi that stupid little child crying at the corner of the room. Tapi yaa.. --' sudah terdoktrin, huhuhu ~_~
And kejadian2 kaya gitu yg sampe skr bikin gw rada.. antipati sama orang yg "populer", "ngegeng", seenaknya gencet sana gencet sini.. Yah, I know ga semua orang "populer" itu nyebelin. Some are good.. but dunno d. I just can't.. err.. ~_~ ga bisa nyambung lah. Not my style. They don't have the same feathers as mine. Begitulah.
Ngegeng.. I'm not talking about groups. I know that people often find someone whom they feel comfy to be with, and make friends with him/her. Or have a close relationship with him/her. Or else. Gw juga manusia, so I do the same thing. Tapi kalo pake ada acara masuk keluar geng.. buset =_= Friendship is a chain, not a wall. Nyari apa sih pake terlalu mengeksklusifkan diri kya gitu? ~_~ Yes, this is my blog.
--' Quit this --'
Gencet sana gencet sini.. lol~ Emangnya jerawat digencet gencet? --' Yes, semakin error.. ~_~ Dunno d, untuk masalah2 kaya gini gw cuman mau nanya: 'What are you looking for? Power?' --' This is FRIENDship not POWERship --' As long as you have friends, it's enough ~_~
... Kayanya udh melenceng jauh yah --' Intinya sih gw cuman mau cerita sedikit aja.. dan berhubung lagi nemu chapter itu dr buku, jadilah gw tulis skr :p
Capek ngebacanya?
